Bailee-Rose Farnham
“There’s always a place for you in this world, sometimes we just need a little help finding our people.”

Contemporary dancer Bailee-rose began exploring her gender identity and the way our bodies are governed by society through choreography, while studying in Melbourne. As a young, gender non-conforming trans woman of colour, she pushes boundaries on body, sex, gender and love. While training under the wings of Jackie Scott, Adrian Ricks and Kim Adam, she developed her own sense of style and movement through classical lines and improvisation.

Bailee-rose has recently choreographed a piece that encapsulates the idea of gender, sex and love for Unboxed on ABC iview. She is driven by her experiences and the injustice she and her friends go through as young queer people navigating through life.

“My goal is to show the beauty of diversity and to question gender norms”. Bailee-rose states.

Hi Bailee I think your your work is amazing…well done. My neice Sarah and her partner Bowen who live in Port melb told me about you. I have recently published two Children’s books called Lucy Star @ 7 and Lucy Star @ 13. They are the story of a transgender little girl called Lucy. Im really glad more and more information on trans and gender diversity is getting out there. Well done to you. Cheers Kate Downey
